Bolivian ram compatibility?

Hi all, in my 23 gallon tank I currently have :
10 cardinal tetras
1 thick lip gourami
2 guppies
I'd really like to buy a male Bolivian ram to complete my tank but I don't want to disrupt the peaceful community. Has anyone had any success housing a Bolivian ram with the above tank mates? I had to return a female German blue ram a few days ago because she became a bully so didn't want to go through that again. Thanks!

Depends on the fish...
I have had Bolivians with Black Skirt tetras, Tequila Sunrise guppy, Angels, Electric Blue Acara. Some claiming of territories but nothing severe, well except when they had a spawn. But even then no real injuries.
Just remember to change-up the scape before adding the new inhabitants, it helps prevent any squabbles with already claimed spots also add them with the lights off.

Good Luck!

Thanks! Would you suggest a single male or female? I'd like a pair but I've read they don't always pair up so seemed less risky to just get one.

After raising hundreds of Bolivians I still find it challenging to gender ID, only 50% correct most of the time. Been fooled on many occasions. LOL
Males or Females or you could try a proven pair

Good Luck!

Make sure there are several places that would make a good home for the ram.. ie caves.
