Bogwood *refusing* To Sink...

Hello all,

So not technically a plant, but I wasn't sure where else to post this:

I have a piece of bogwood which, like one of Pennywise's balloons, is flatly refusing not to float!!

I've had it submerged for about 4 days now, but it's still as buoyant as ever. I've tried the 'boiling' technique (sort of, technically it was just in a very hot bath), but that hasn't worked either.

Other than weighing it down with a rock or drilling it and putting a sucker underneath, is there anything else I can try?

Help!

How big is the piece? It may take a few more days to sink but weighing it down with rocks etc is probably best for now

4 days isn't enough. Sometimes it can take weeks for the wood to finally soak in the water. You often see it with trees in the river, they float but after a few months of being in the water they eventually sink...Try weighing it down with rocks until then.

HI most drift / bog wood tends to take a while to saturate & become non buoyant, you just need to put it into a big container of water & weigh it down & leave it there until it sinks on its own.

They're not massive pieces, maybe 10" each by 3-4" across. One piece, as of today, has now pretty much sunk on its own - it sort of bobs around in the water flow, but is otherwise staying put.
