Blue LED lights at night ?

Fishjunkiejimmy

I have heard it’s ok to leave led blue lights on at night but I’m not sure if it’s ok cause I know the fish need dark to rest at night is this something most do I don’t like taking chances of stressing out the fish am just being over cautious?

Why would you need to have the light on at night?

Having a blue light on each night will cause more algae to grow.

Yes that’s what I was worried about if they could sleep with it on and I ask cause it’s advertised as can b used at night as moon light and I try to provide as much of a natural habitat as I can thanks for confirming my thoughts

In my marine aquarium I have blue and white lights on all day and just blue for 2 hrs at the end of the night, from 7-9pm.

It just creates more algae in my experience. Most algae photosynthesizes blue light more than plants, so having it on at night can be a recipe for disaster in a planted tank.

Yea turning them on and off not a problem I’ve just heard some things about it helping to bring colours out of the fish
Makes sense about the algae
