Blue Gourami All Of A Sudden Shy

Hello fishlore!
I have a blue Gourami (Dwarf?) and have had it him about 6 months. Up until recently he was kept in a 20 gallon well planted, cycled tank along with 1 female gold Gourami, 4 Buenos Aires tetra, 2 bleeding heart tetra, 3 candy cane tetra, and one blue ram. He has always been a tad timid, kept to himself but was still a social fish. I noticed about a week ago, he was hiding in my rock stacks, didn't really come out to eat, would stay in the shadows.

I am in the process of setting up a 55 gallon, and used media from the 20 gallon, to kick start the cycle. This worked well, and I moved over the gold Gourami because she was getting too big for the 20 gallon. This just made it worse, and he started staying in the corner behind the water Sprite stems all being the rocks.

Now that the 55 is up I hoped he would want to stretch his legs, so I moved him over too, now living with the goldie, 5 harlequin rasbora, 2 rainbows, and 4 giant danios, and still he slid himself into a rack in a driftwood branch or between a rock and the glass, I thought he was stuck!

I have been putting my hand at the back of the tank (outside the glass) so he comes out and then I throw in food, so he is still eating. But I was wondering if any of you have seen this in them, or if there's something else going on with his odd behavior.

Thanks!

Possibly the other Gourami harassing it?
Is it a Three spot? Blue, Gold and Opaline are all the same species and are known to be somewhat aggressive.
Dwarf Gourami are also known to be aggressive.

It may actually be a Dwarf Blue, no spots, just metallic light blue, he's beutiful. And the Goldie isn't aggressive, there is sometimes a small chase every once in a while, but generally when the blue is out and the gold comes along they just sit with one another and then the gold takes off to go putz (unless Goldie is whispering insults haha ) . Neither of them are particularly aggressive toward one another or other fish, I've gotten lucky.

Sounds like a DG.
My Opaline is shy, could just be your fish.
It could be you did something to upset him. I have Blue Acara, after they settled in I could feed them by hand and it was like they would almost greet me whenever I was close to the tank. I decided to move some hardscape around and after that they where incredibly shy for about 2 weeks. I actually moved one then decided it was a bad Idea and put it back and he still hasn't got over it, that was about 2 weeks ago.
Time could solve it just keep an eye on him and make sure he eats.

Hmmm, ok thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, it's greatly appreciated!
