Bloody Parrots/Romaine Lettuce

Good morning!

My Bloody Parrots have been feasting on the romaine lettuce that I feed to my Silver Dollars. I just fed my fish and witnessed my Love Heart Bloody Parrot (Love Heart = no tail) her name is Lovely, rip a portion of lettuce from the rib. She was a bit surprised at her feat the piece floated for a moment and then she sucked it down and went back for more. The other Bloody Parrot tank mates saw this and they all swarmed the leaf. It isn't easy for the Bloody Parrots to rip the leaf and I'm very surprised that it happened. Lovely is a big girl!

I guess I'll have to start slicing some for the Bloody Parrots from now on. Too, I have fed the Bloody Parrots and the Silver Dollars the green skin from the Pleco's zucchinI once he is full and I go to remove it from the tank. Everyone loved it too.

Now, everyone will be getting greens in addition to other foods.

Lovely has always been a special girl, with her not having a tail. She is tough and doesn't take any grief from anyone. Currently she's in spawning mode and she can swim just as well as all of the others with tails. I'd say she's close to 7 years old now.

Great pic Ken!!!!! I use kale and romaine in the food I make for everybody, I do it in the food processor( I really do it for the $)...but my parrot babies just love it too!!!!! They never bothered with until I did it this way

my parrots devour the lettuce too.but I think its for revenge not so much for hunger LOL ..the dempseys don't share well
