Frozen bloodworms! They are favorited by all of my fish(I have many!) my betas LOVE them. They maybe more expensive, but it's well worth it because the corys are always able to get them!

I've only used frozen, never freeze dried, so I can only say all of my fish love frozen bloodworms.

Most people say frozen contain more vitamins, but in some articles they say the difference is only small. If you feed dried you have to soak them first to prevent digestion problems.
I haven't used dried yet, only frozen and my fish love them!

Just make sure to not feed them too much! Bloodworms aren't healthy as a sole diet. They should supplement a good quality flake, pellet, or other varied diet.

If you feed freeze dried ones you should soak them first in water. I wouldn't feed either too often. Bettas get spoiled. My betta that lives with the frogs is so spoiled he won't eat anything but frog food (frozen shrimp, bloodworms and pellets).

If I was a fish, I think I'd find the frozen ones tastier.

One of my bettas can only eat frozen foods or he bloats, but I've only just found out that I should be defrosting them first :/ I've just been putting a tiny frozen bit in and my fish goes straight for it and eats it.
My other betta have a mix of pellets and freeze dried bloodworms: they don't seem to like frozen foods and tends just to make a lot of Mess.

I feed a few meals a week. I have a varied schedule for my Betta:

Mon. = pellets (1-2 in the morning, 2-3 in the evening)
Tues. = 1 pellet in the morning, Brine Shrimp for dinner
Wed. = pellets (same as Monday)
Thurs. = 1 pellet in the morning, Bloodworms for dinner
Fri. = pellets (same as Monday & Wed.)
Sat. = 1 pellet in the morning, Brine Shrimp *OR* Bloodworms for dinner (I mix this up every other week)
Sun. = fasting day (no food)

When feeding Bloodworms I keep it to one or two, depending on the size. Some of them are huge!

Brine Shrimp is usually 4-5. >> I use the Spirulina Brine Shrimp, also a frozen item.

It may have been coincidence - if a shrimp is molting and a Betta notices, that's a buffet moment to them. The shrimp is soft and tasty and has no armor. If Bruce is living with 5 other shrimp, they may just be on a different molting schedule. Usually shrimp hide when the new shell is hardening, but hey, everyone makes mistakes, right?

I am allergic to bloodworms (it's actually a common allergen - a protein in them). But before the allergy developed, I fed a lot of frozen, and as an overall fish food, it was great. I never saw bloating or constipation the way you may with pellets. I never soaked the freeze dried version, with no problems, but I didn't use them often, so maybe that was luck.

I fed my boys a pinch of micro pellets every morning and a couple of blood worms every couple of days and they seem fine with that routine is.
Bruce was fine with the other 5 until he saw them as snacks I've learnt the hard way and discovered Bruce is not happy with any tank mate other then zebra nitrites snails. The tiger ones he just flares and try's to nibble the eyes
