Strange behavior is becoming of this bloodfin tetra. Please give advice.

School of tetras in same tank

Their normal behavior makes me believe that the strange one is pregnant. I don't have another tank and I am ok losing the brood. Originally my thought was that this fish was sick.

I appreciate your help. God bless

These tetras don't get pregnant. They fertilize the eggs outside the body. I would think it's sickness.

Can you give us a bit more info? Tank size, tank mates? Water parameters (pH, temp, ammonia, nitrites, nitrates)?

When did you first notice this? How long has she been like this?

The fish has some sort of swim bladder problems. Hard to say what caused it.

0amonia 0 nitrites 5-10 nitrates. pH is 7-7.6. could it be overfed? I tend to feed a little more and just gravel vac a lot. Also the fish after 2 days has begun acting normal

Nvm.. it died. I miscounted this morning. Strangely though it looked like the bottom fins were nipped and the fish seemed pale

Sorry for your loss I would definitely cut down on feeding. There is no need to overfeed, and it can be really bad for your fish.
