Blood Parrot attacking Black Ghost Knife Fish

Hi All,

I just added a Blood Parrotfish to my long 75 gallon. Previously the BGKF was alone and would spend most of the day chilling in his cholla -- even if I added other tubes/etc. he would always prefer this log, so I took out the other stuff.

I added a parrotfish and a pleco. The pleco is chill -- he's mostly hanging by the filter, and apart from one moment where he decided to go eat the cholla log, he's kept to himself.

However today (~day 3 of the new fish) I have noticed that whenever the BGKF was in his log, the parrotfish would come in and chase him out and off into the rest of the tank. If he returned the parrot would immediately come back and chase him out. The BGKF has now abandoned his fave spot and is as best I can tell hiding under some almond leaves.

I had kinda assumed the BCKF was more of a risk to any new fish, but he seems to not put up much of a fight against the parrot.

Is this something that will resolve itself? Or is this parrot going to continue to cause trouble and stress out my ghost? Is there anything I can do to the tank to help with this? The parrot fish doesn't seem to care about the cholla at all when the ghost isn't in it. I just added back in a glass tube I had bought for the ghost that he wasn't interested in before just in case it serves as a backup.

It's kinda freaking me out to see my black ghost being pushed around after he's had such a chill routine up until now and wondering if this parrot is not going to work out?

Here's the tank -- (ghost's log on far right)

Yes the parrot now has a target and will keep going after the knife. Parrots can be outright nasty.

Nice tank. How long is it?

Clear for Life acrylic. Really nice tank! Managed to carry it up 4 floors on my own

So you think I should return the parrot fish and give by beloved knife fish back their peace and quiet?

Yes like I said parrots can be mean. I think people do best with a few parrots together.
Acrylics are very light. I’ve got 5 now. Only one I can’t carry by myself is the 180. My son had to help me with that :).
