Blocking off escape holes !!

HI everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help with a possible problem. I have Panda Garra s and they are known to escape, mine haven't ....yet ! But my tank has 4 small ish holes in the four corners for wires, and at the back above, two large circles big enough for the plugs to fit though. ( hope that makes sense)

Does anyone have any idea what I can block the 3 holes with ? something that would be safe? They are currently blocked with small pieces of thin wood. I don't know if the Panda s are capable of pushing these pieces of wood out of the way, but is there anything else I could use ?

I'm having to keep a lower water line than I would like in the hope that this would deter them a little !!

Thank you for any ideas

Welcome to FL

Can you post a picture of the area so we can "visualize" what you need to do?

Hopefully, you can see the gap, they can get into the smallest of spaces so I'm guessing this gap would be plenty !! I'm trying to include another pic but can't seem to get it on here. You can see what we are using at the moment !

Go to a craft store and get some plastic mesh. And super glue it to the area. I super glued mesh to my hob filter outtakes to prevent my eels from escaping

Yes, plastic mesh works great. You can cut it to your liking.

Thank you Big Red, Junne. I take it super glue would be safe? I will get some asap. I'm keeping a close eye on the tank at the moment anyway as I think I have eggs on the plants, I'm not entirely sure yet. Thank you SO much for your help !!

Just make sure the glue is dry. I normally wait a cpl hrs before setting it up. It is safe Inside and around tank.

Well I'm not sure if you've gone ahead and solved it already but there's a free and easier way of this since you'll more than likely have the stuff around. What I do is just cut a piece of cardboard and put cutouts of where cords or appliances have to stick out of the water.

Thank you Clarissa98, Big Red, Junne. I happened to be in a local supermarket and saw this...

Its a guttering guard, I think the holes are small enough, they look bigger than they are, or I could double it. It was only £1, what do you think ?
