Bloated Eel?

Poseidontheaxolotl

Hello everyone,

I started to notice that my eel started to look a little fat, however I wanted some second opinions on this. I have also heard that some females usually get a little fat however I don’t know if my eel is a male of female - can anyone tell?

I have actually had a few problems with bloat, especially in one guppy who had a severe case, and another I believe had a small case but unfortunately passed away a few days later. Now I have started to notice if my fish are all getting fat or not, however I don’t think they are.

If this is bloat, how should I treat it (maybe the whole tank) and what caused it do you think?

Here are some pictures:

It looked normal to me. Do you have any missing fish overnight?
I love these guys by the way.

Editing to say sorry, can't help with sexing them unless I see a pair and I know they are a pair.

Thank you for responding! No fish have ever gone missing - they are all too big for him and he’s very gentle and sweet, so it would be very unexpected behavior from him. I just assumed it’s a male however I could be wrong. I don’t have much knowledge on these little guys ):
