Bladder snails appreciation post

Im gathering bladder snails from my tanks to eventually feed my puffer and I used to think of them as pests but they're actually pretty cool to watch! They made this thing that looks like a piece of thread that goes from the bottom all the way up to a plant floating at the top of the tank. They all climb up it to get to the top! They also can just float up and down like they are in an invisible elevator. Anyways I just thought these guys needed more appreciation because they are so cool to watch but also my tanks are almost spotless! It sucks that I'm going to be feeding them but that's the way life goes. I used to hate these guys but I have a newfound obsession for them

Yeah, I've never been bothered by "pest" snails. Recently I had a 2.5 gallon tank with mystery snail babies in it. Eventually I ended up with a few "pest" snails (I can never remember if their bladder snails or pond snails). What was really cool about these particular pest snails is that they're almost black with a little bit of white or gold. I've only ever had brown pest snails, and the black ones really caught my eye. Snails in general are just super cool little creatures and I saw in the news the other day that they're a huge hit as pets during the pandemic. Here's a picture of one of the "pest" snails from my 20 gallon tank.

Yeah, I love bladder and ramshorn snails. Neither eat my plants and they keep my tanks super clean. I hate ponds snails (the plain brown ones), but bladder snails (the ones with gold spots) are my favorites. Super fun to watch!

They are so fun to watch float and crawl around. I used to hate them but I've had a change f heart. Sucks they will become food sooner or later.

Pest snails annoy me because their so small and they’re everywhere lol. They are cute though! I took out as many as I could from my tank recently, and I was surprised to only find about 20! What surprised me even more was that they have eyes! I somehow never noticed that before lol.

I think I've got about 95% of the snails out of my tank. This took me almost a week! However there are about 30 egg sacks just waiting to hatch so that will be fun!

I have seen that yet but have you seen them make the little threads to the top of the tank. one built one and climb up and down I all the time. Once I saw 10 snails on it!

Mine do this sometimes. It’s really cool!
