Hello. I bought a BGKF about six months ago for my community tank. However, after finding about a fish a week dead with no eyes, I did some research. I read that other BGKF's have done this in the past to other fish owners. I have placed him in a tank by himself where he seems to be a lot more happier; he is swimming around and is certainly a lot more active. However, I feel sad seeing him just by himself. I have read that gouramis can be a good tank mate due to their toughness but I'm just worried that he'll go back to eating eyes and killing if another fish is placed in the tank with him.

    I hope you have a 100 gallon+ aquarium.

Black ghost knife fish are a highly predatory fish that hunt at night using an electric field. Tank mates would need to be large and able to hold their own against this predator.
