Black Diamond Blasting Sand safe for bottom dwellers?

I am thinking about getting some black diamond blasting sand, the coarse grit. The only thing that concerns me is if it's safe for bottom dwellers. I have heard that the sand is sharp. Won't it harm the fish?

There are a lot of people who use black diamond sand, didn't hear much about getting cuts on their hands when washing, so it's likely that it's safe. If your worried about that you can always buy aquarium grade black sand.

It's not sharp. My Cory's seem fine with it. I've not read anything bad about it.
In fact, I read where somebody actually used crushed glass as an experiment and none of his Cory's lost barbs. Yikes!

I use black diamond with my kuhlI loaches. The coarse grit as well. They seem to do fine.

I'll have to check. The black diamond sand I'm using looks awesome and has lots of people using it, so I know it's safe. Not sure it's available up in Canada.

Double checked, ingredients are identical. Should be fine. For some reason yours lists level 4 for oral and mine is level 2. Perhaps different labeling up there.. lol.

Be sure to rinse it really well. Somebody even used a screen to sift it and got it super clean. There is a lot of dust in it. Took me awhile to get it to rinse clean, half a bag at a time.

Looks to be the same as BDBS but slightly more coarse which is a good thing, IMO. Wash with a few drops of Dawn dish soap, rinse well and you should be good.

I have cories and kuhlI loaches and they have no issues with BDBS.
