20 Gallon Tank Black diamond blasting sand and ADFs

So, I'm new to fishkeeping and am planning on stocking my 20 gallon with a male betta, some snails, and some ADFs. The tank has been running for a little while to cycle. Right now I have 30/60 and 40/80 grit black diamond blasting sand over some gravel. I thought this would be best for the african dwarf frogs I was planning to get, but now my water has been cloudy for the past three days. I'm beginning to think it won't ever settle down. It's so fine that when I try to move anything or do anything towards the bottom of the tank I end kicking up so much sand that just floats up like dust. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with ADFs on 20/40 BDBS? I really wanna use it because I like the look and it's very cheap but I worry that it will be too coarse for the sensitive froggies. Thanks in advance!!

Did you rinse the sand and gravel before adding it to the tank?

Mine are in 20/40 without an issue. Trick to BDBS is definitely the rinsing and cleaning beforehand, as there are small particles that need to get out.

I did setup once where I didnt rinse enough (was washing/cleaning inside in the tub instead of outside as it was winter) and I just ran it through a standard HOB type filter with polyfil until it cleared up.

I did rinse it but I think the fine is just SO fine. even touching it dry, it just feels like dust/dirt. You can't even see individual particles

the 20/40 grit is the preferred for that reason
