Black “ cherry” shrimp!?

Ginger2078

I have been keeping cherry, blue velvet and amano shrimp in my tank for quite some time now. Cherries and blues have been breeding regularly. Offsprings have been red, blue, clear, dark clear colors so far. A few days ago I happened to see a black with golden stripe shrimp, a good size shrimp, that I haven’t seen before in my tank. It’s an interesting looking fellow. Anyone seen shrimp with color like this before?

I got a few of those as well crossing some low grade cherries with my blue velvets. I called them "skunk shrimp". They're so cute!

Cool, thanks guys. I hope one day my red and blues can create purple one , lol

My culled red cherry shrimp have usually been brown or clear. But in their own tank, they have created light reds, red on the ends with white in the middle, black, now I found a black one on both ends and pretty much clear in the middle. I love seeing what they produce! If you have a separate tank for your culls, you might keep your line of red or blue longer. If you don't care, like I don't anymore, then put them together and see what cool colors you get!

Thank you, that’s exactly what I want for them to mix to see what can come out, so far so good. They also staying healthy, so that’s awesome.
