they really are marvelous...they don't offer them around here.

Thanks I waited a long time for these guys! 14 months to be exact!! So I feel very accomplished right now!
If you are ever interested in breeding them again let us know. I'm hoping to have a community tank by end of year and I want a Pleco in it. Regular or long finned. Albino or lemon Pleco. I'm building my stocking around the Pleco.

To be honest...mom and dad are still together. So...there is a good chance I will have more. Now that I think about it, I should probably separate them...cuz I am out of real estate right now! I can't raise another litter at this point in time!
Just make sure, when you sell them (the brown ones too) they go to people that know how to take care of them.

That is hard to do with 100% confidence. I would have a hard time owning a fish store for that reason. If I can't sell them all on my own (which I may not be able to with the brown ones) then they have to go to the LFS and I have no idea where they will end up.

But as for the ones I sell on my own.....I hope to be able to find nothing but good homes!! But I have no idea if the people are being honest or not when they tell me their plans for the fish.

There are a LOT of potential good homes right here on fishlore. So if I can just get the guts to ship!!! (I keep saying that, I know!!)

Oh boy! Yep a chance of more fry if they are together.

If you ever do decide to ship please let us know costs of fish and shipping. I will definitely keep you in mind when I am ready for my Pleco. I am planning on adding him (or her) last. I just want a lighter one so I can see it on the black sand I plan on having. That's why I want a lemon or albino. And if I get one of yours I can always send you pictures as it grows!!

That is a big part of the reason I want to ship my angels and my plecos to my fishlore friends! It would be so fun to be able to watch them grow in their new homes!!

Lchi87 is lined up to be my guinea pig for my first shipment. Then I will have an idea of what the total shipping costs will be and be able to provide the "final price" to those who are interested And after that first shipment, my confidence level will be much higher. (assuming it goes smoothly!! LOL)

I just want to get it over with!! I am sick of stressing about it. I just want to DO IT and be done with the "unknown"!

Thanks!! I want to do it now...but I do worry about the cold weather where both of us live. But she just got her pink JD in the mail with no issues! So I did order the hot pads to allow me to do it sooner than later.

Lchi87 has been so generous with me, she has sent me live plants for free (didn't even let me pay for shipping) and even sent me some extra medicated flakes she had on hand So I decided I can repay her by letting her be my guinea pig! lol

If she got her JD with no issues in this weather, the baby plecos should do very well, especially if you package them very well (which I know you will).

Well that's very nice of her! She definitely deserves first dibs in getting one of your beautiful babies

ok...so interesting turn of events....I listed the babies on a couple local facebook pages last night. I said they would be "available soon!"

Well there is a lady who wants to drive an hour to buy "at least 5" long fins (I listed them for $15 each). Well...I need to keep a couple for myself....@Lchi87 is getting one and I have several of you who are hoping to get one as well. I have no idea how many I have. I estimate 15-20. And I want to make sure I have enough for those of you on fishlore who want to buy one.

I have had a lot of people chime in about wanting a long fin yellow guy. So with this new development, I want to know who is really serious about having me ship them a yellow blue eyed pleco, SPECIFICALLY the long fin variety. Shipping will likely be spendy of course. I am selling them locally for $15. Fishlore members will get them for $10 (plus shipping). Brown ones for $5 (plus shipping) I don't yet know what the cost of shipping will be.

So Who for sure wants a long fin yellow?
I am pretty sure of
KingD
tfreema
Lchi87 of course!

Who else is dead set on a long fin yellow blue eyed pleco? (rather than standard)

edit: I am going to use this "post" to keep track for myself LOL, so I will keep editing
Mcasella wants a standard finned yellow
ErinO wants one long fin and at least one standard fin
Flowingfins wants long fin
tyguy7760 wants a long fin

I like the standard better, so I'll wait for one of those blue eyed standard babies. I'm not surprised the lady wanted that many, they are heftily priced in most places.

I totally agree, the LFS by me had them for $30 each for a 1 inch baby and they didn't even have blue eyes!

ya, The cheapest LFS where I live was selling them for $30 as one inch babies as well. (at least they had blue eyes though)

I told this lady I was concerned she will drive all this way and be let down by their small size. I want to make sure if she chooses to do this, that she knows they are very small. I also told her how much our local LFS charged for them at the same size.

The only bns my lfs carries are ones that someone has turned over to them for store credit, both dark males too. (and like 14 a piece)

Yes absolutely. I plan to grow a few long fin yellows into adulthood! Speaking of producing all yellows...I had a guy in one of the facebook groups I listed them for sale on tell me he wasn't interested because they are not "pure bred Yellow blue eyed plecos". (after he interrogated me to find out if they were pure or not lol) He is looking for a pure strain only. lol And some other jerk decided he wanted to swing by my listing just to make a comment on my prices being too high and then he disappeared. Wow dude, if you don't want one fine, take your comments elsewhere!! "Sorry but these are pet store prices" That was the guys' one and only comment. Actually no....the most well priced pet store in our area sold long fin yellows like mine for $30 each and I am offering them for $15 and a free brown one with purchase!!! A free brown one with yellow blue eyed genes at that!

Ok...while I was typing that...I just had a person send me a message that they want me to reserve "defintiley like 1/6 dozen or more of the ling fins" Can anyone tell me how many that is????? lol
Then there was the woman yesterday who wants at least 5 long fins. I didn't think just one or two locals were going to try and buy me out in one swoop!!!!

My sister thinks I am crazy for shipping to you guys when I can get $15 each locally and not even have to leave my house let alone deal with shipping them! LOL

Your Plecos are just fine! My LFS had regular finned yellow blue eyes a couple weeks back listed for $28. So your prices are not too high. I asked Aaron (store owner) about why different pricing for different colors and he said availability and prices they bought at. Said long finned would go for more money than regular finned.

1/6 of a dozen would be 2 or 3 plecos. I am very honored you are offering fish lore people your Plecos at such a rate you are.

LOL I guess if you do the math....that would be correct...but I have never seen anyone say one sixth of a dozen rather than just saying two.....lol

I know my prices are good prices. And if I had seen these listed locally for just $15, I would be BEGGING Them to reserve a bunch for me!!

I will have a lot of fun sharing my plecos with the fishlore family. Sure I could get more money locally....and the shipping is annoying...but the idea of watching my babies grow up with all of you guys sounds worth it to me!
