Bio SPONGE advice

the filters that came with my starter tanks do not have a BIO Sponge. Should I add one?

tank is still cycling so how should I add one ?

rinse tap soak in prime water and insert?

 

Not sure exactly what a BIO sponge is, but your beneficial bacteria will populate the media you already have, so I'm not sure there would be a point

 

one came with my Cascade Filter it sit between the filter. forgive me if I called it wrong lol

I think so. for example my cascade filter has two parts one is the filter pad one is a black sponge. my other filter just has a filter pad and plastic guard thing (Walmart Starter Aquarium fyi)...just wanted to know if it would help get my cycle to est.

 

Not really, they will colonize on the filter pads without a special sponge.
