They are not crappy and useless. In fact they can be very good aquariums if you know what you're doing. You can't really put goldfish in the BiOrbs because goldfish get really big and they also create lots of waste which the bubble filter probably can't handle. Even if you get the biggest BiOrb which is 15 gallons, you still wouldn't be able to keep goldfish unless you plan on upgrading to a bigger tank later on.
