I was at a local pet store, looking for some tetras for my 20 gallon tank, when I noticed some rather unhappy looking pond fish. One was a koi and the other was a goldfish, and both were about a foot long! But, sadly, they were both stuck in a little 30 gallon with some baby fantails, and seemed very stressed out about it.
When I asked the employee, he said they had been given to the pet store when their pond got drained, and that they were about two years old. So I decided to take them.
The koi is still pretty young, and he’s probably the smallest koi in my pond. The goldfish, however, is definitely about full grown. He’s pretty long but not very chubby, so I’m assuming he’s a male.
I just wanted to show him off lol. Most of the other goldfish in my pond are only about half his size.
I wonder, is he done growing?
