Big Bellies; Overfed? Sick?

HI all, I've got Cardinal Tetras in my 20 G long tank. My first time having tetras. I've noticed a few of them have enlarged bellies with a silver/white colour. They're still eating well, just wanted to check if they look overfed, with-eggs or possible illness?

The whiteness is what's worrying me, can't tell if it looks like fungus? (see picture, best I could get, ignore the cherry barbs)

My tank parameters:
0 Ammonia
0 Nitrite
10-20 Nitrate
7.2 PH
25% water change weekly

You could try feeding them thawed peas in case they are simply bloated. It is the most probable cause since they are still eating well and their scales don't appear raised.

Their bellies are silver anyway, and that part has expanded downwards, so nothing to worry about there. What have they eaten?

Hello J...

Are the fish getting enough fiber in their diet? Fish are no different than people. They need some fiber to help their digestion. Add some frozen organic spinach once week. Just drop in some smaller pieces. The enlarged bellies may be constipation. Sounds funny, but it happens. Some tank keepers remove the skin from peas, but spinach is less work and is much higher in fiber.

They've eaten flake food, some sinking pellets and the occasional nibble of the corys' sinking wafers. I alternate between flakes and sinking pellets.

I hadn't thought about fibre, I've got some peas so I'll give them a try (don't have any spinach in)

Sorry for jacking your topic, but mine are starting to get a bit bloopy too.
Possibly because they were feeding on something different at the fish store.
So the remedy/precautionary diet supplement is plain frozen spinach?
Can it also be some freeze dried spinach pellets (shrimp food technically)?

IMG_9085.JPG LOL, I literally just logged into the forum to ask the same question only mine was: Preggers or Constipated?

After seeing this thread, I'm thinking constipated. Thanks for heading me off
