Big algae problems

We have a big algae bloom but we only have one sea urchin, we have a lobster and algae is starting to get on its antenna is there anything we can do? I asked about chemicals but it’s bad for anemones plus the petco we have the fish delivery has been delayed due to corona

Water change is the first line of defense. Algae means excess nutrients.
Make sure you’re using ro water( preferably rodi water)

I’d also suggest adding gfo to the filter, just put it in some panty hose rinse it well and toss it in a high flow area to trap phosphates

May also consider adding some macro algae to your scape I love the shaving brush for example

but first step is water change ... then more clean up crew, I like reef cleaners.org personally

Agree it’s a water quality issue.
as mentioned ro water is a must and the filters inside need to be maintained.
nitrates and phosphates are the number one cause for algae growth.
What’s your weekly routine? Testing? Water changes? Feeding? Tank inhabitants? Flow, skimmer? Food?

That’s a lot of fish and a lot of food. Puffers are very dirty eaters.

did you mean 5 gallon water changes weekly?
what’s your water tests look like for nitrates and phosphates? That’s likely the cause.
