Bettas wont seem to breed...

Hi, so I just conditioned my male + female bettas, then let them see each other through a plastic cup (that the female was in) for a few hours... I have since released them and the female is displaying verticle breeding bars and is full of eggs. the male has built a huge bubble nest. They have been in there together for around 3 hours with normal chasing and such... I am wondering if there is anything I can do to expedite the breeding process or encourage them along? thanks

Well, are they breeding pairs? Are you prepared for all of the 100+ jars to keep the fry? Do you have a place to sell them after? Can you keep up with water changes? Flowingfins

A couple questions.
Do you have the time for daily water changes?
Do you have the space for 500+ jars?
Do you have the money?
Are you sure you can rehome the babies?
Do you have live foods for the fry?
Are you breeding pet store bettas?
Are you breeding veil tails?
There is a huge problem with people breeding for "fun" and trying to make money. Breeding bettas is not something to take lightly, you have to be committed to it. I can tell you right now, that to do this right you will need to spend a couple thousand to get started, and that you won't make money off of it.

Yes, I have time for the water changes, yes I have space, yes I have the cash, yes I am sure, the male is a beautiful pure white HMPK and the female is a white bodied musturd finned HMPK... They still have not bred... the male is no longer bubble nesting either... He just sits there for a few mins then chases female a little bit, then swims around and repeats. The female has inspected nest a few times but is then either scared off by the male or gets bored and swims off. I'm at a loss.

I would separate them overnight and try again tomorrow.
How long did you condition for?

Sometimes a particular male and female just don't feel compatible with one another. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries. Sometimes you just have to leave the female for a day or so (that's why I always provide a hiding place for the female). Sometimes they don't like being watched! Seriously, I have had that with a few species of fish.

Sounds like you are doing things right, the only ingredient that might be missing is a little patience. If she is coming to him at the nest, I would not give up just yet.

update: the male is now EXPANDING his nest, the female has VERY dark verticle bars and is now (for the first time) flaring at the male (but not nipping or chasing) what does her flaring mean?

he occasionally swims near her, displays her fins, then swims back to the nest as if trying to get her over for the embrace... I wish she would listen to his beckoning!

Ok, I kinda just gave up on them... I'm letting the male continue to expand his nest while I continue to condition them both. Hope to come back in a few days with news of eggs in the nest!

Good Luck. It would be nice to see some photos of the fish in question, too!
