Bettas Age?

Hiya ,
I had two VTs I brought from a pet store who were under 6months according to the store at time of purchase - and they lived with me for 3years before passing.

Now we have a steel blue CT, George, who we purchased last week. I think he is old? He seems to have a arched appearance which is my reasoning behind it - and I think he is much bigger than my other two were at time of purchase
What age would you think he is?

Then I just today got a mustard gas Halfmoon , he doesn’t have a arch to his body and I haven’t seen him flare yet ( but he’s been with me less that 12hours mind you ) and he is smaller than George (CT)
What age would you think he is roughly ?

I know it’s hard to guess betta age

Oh yeah, he looks old. His fins are in such a bad shape with fin rot and fin melt. Good clean water will clear that up. Due to his fully formed fins and arched back, I'm guessing he's 1 1/2-2 years old. Probably closer to around 2.

Oh really? That is old, yeah his fins were like that when I got him a week ago , I have been doing 50% water changes daily and adding prime and stability daily

How old do you think the other one is ?

Thanks ,what about the other mustard gas?
Also the mustard gas has curled over fins , the top and the ventral , I noticed it yesterday when I got him but it didn’t put me off getting him , I’m just curious on the cause
I’m thinking probably poor water quality before I got him ?

Looks to be around a year old. Curled fins are due so poor water quality. Most of the time they don't uncurl.

Ok thanks , I don’t mind if they don’t uncurl - he’s not for breeding or showing , and if he’s come from bad conditions all I can do is make his next few years great ... the crowntail is the one I’m disappointed about as it’s no wonder he’s not doing great with his age having had bad water conditions that long before getting to me
