Betta with white tips on his ventral fins

Greetings!

I've a small friendly Betta with white tips on his ventral fins. How do I tell if it's colouring versus rot? It doesn't seem to have spread any; but, I don't want to wait too long if it is rot.

It looks like it's just his coloration to me, but it's good that you're keeping your eye on him.

It doesn't look like rot to me :/ When mine had fin rot they had black edges and it looked uneven.

the white tips are coloring. it's not uncommon for them to have tips of a different color so that's ok.. has his tail fin always had that dark edge?

Am pretty sure I've seen some with red tips too. I find the white tips very pretty. One of mine has it.

Greetings COBettaCouple!

He's had this coloring since I purchased him from Wal-Mart. It's only been a week but I've quickly come to like the guy.

His coloring is very similiar to our 1st 2 Bettas and they both had very fiesty characters. He is a handsome Betta. ;D

I'd watch his tail for any changes, but that's the usual deal with Bettas. Triple Sulfa and Rid-Fungus along with VitaChem would be good to have in your fish cabinet should you ever need to deal with Finrot. You'll want to stock those asap since finrot is one of those "treat it FAST" deals.

We order our VitaChem from the DFS website:
