So, when I first purchased my Betta (Gilbert) his fins looked a bit tattered. I suspect it could have been a mild fin rot but when I put him in his new home, it looked as if it were healing. For the past few days, I've been noticing his fins splitting again and I'm worried. Over 1 night, he got 2 large splits in his fin and it worried me a lot so I bought API Betta fix and I've been using it for 2 days now. However, his fins are still splitting but not as quickly as before. I also changed his water and used the API stress coat for the water conditioner hoping it would help ( before I used the betta fix ). I just tested his water with the master test kit and the pH is 7.2 , ammonia, 0 ppm nitrate ppm, and nitrate 0 ppm. I'm new at fish-keeping so I would love any suggestions or comments! I mentioned this issue when I posted earlier ( but at that point it looked like it was healing ) but most of the damage just happened over night. I've taken potentially harmful decorations out of his 3.5 gal aquarium so far and I'm still seeing some slight fin splitting. Thank you!
