I did think about getting another snail but the way I name them it would mess it up lol cause it's Sam, Frodo, and Galadriel. All names from Lord of the Rings. So if I get a new snail it will probably live longer than the rest and the names will get all mixed up.
I know it's a silly reason, I miss having two snails so I may just go out and get one tomorrow or Wednesday. It sounds stupid now that I've typed it out lol.
I also just put in some of his old silk plants to give him something to explore. He's just staring at them in his corner lol

Sounds like you're missing quite a few LotR characters!

I know! I didn't mean to name the fish Galadriel, I just liked how he was flowy and light colored like a star. So I thought of the item Frodo received from Galadriel and I was like "Oh! That would be a good name!"
Like once Sam and Galadriel passed, I was going to get another trio of snails and fish and do the same, now I realize they will not all die on the same day lol oops. Maybe my next snail will be Treebeard or something.

Okay, quick update. Was telling my mom about the situation and we decided he could be moved to the dining room. We pass by that area a lot when we go to the kitchen or use the bathroom, so there would be more action than there is now, he could also see the living room and family room from the angle we are thinking and the TVs won't be too loud for any vibrations to bother him. Gonna wait a few days though and actually monitor how much we move around in the dining room. Not a hundred percent sure on the idea, I sorta revolved my bedroom around this tank.

Good news, my mom is helping me move the tank this weekend. Also, I put in the new decor and he barely touched it lol it's been a couple of days. One more good thing though is that I'm feeding him from his tank again instead of taking him out. I didn't find forceps that had the blunt edge I wanted so I'm teaching him to eat from one of his logs again. I used to do this so it made feeding time easier but I stopped once I upgraded his tank. He seems to be catching on fast too.
This is the decor:

I know keep posting to his thread a lot in a row but I got one more question: could I keep this tank without a lid? The water level is about an inch and a half from the top, I've only seen him jump once but he was in a colored container for holding last year. What about dust and dirty particles? I don't want the surface of the water to get gross.

You could, but you could have the issues you mention - you still run the risk of him jumping out and dust getting in the tank. Is there a particular reason you don't want a lid?

Not really lol I just like the look of it. I've had a greenhouse material lid for a while but with how he's eating it doesn't really work out too well anymore. I've thought about getting one of those wire mesh lids like for lizard tanks, but I had one when I first got this tank, cut it to make a space for my HOB, and then it started rusting.

I use glass that I got cut (for free) at Lowe's. It's under $8 for the glass pane.

Really? You got the dimensions and took it to them or something? How thick is the glass? Does it have any handles on it or do you just lift it up?

Yep! I actually use two separate strips of glass that go over the top of the rI'm and the glass lid sits on top, so it's easy for me to remove. No handle, because there's no hinged pieces, but I'm sure you could glue one on easily.
It's thin glass, but it's fine for a lid.

He has been moved! And thanks to that I did a big water change, sitting in the living room now watching the tank. My bedroom does feel empty and quiet now, mainly because the centerpiece of my room was his tank, and there is a huge space but I'll manage. I just have to figure out a light situation now, because I know with bettas if it's darker outside their tank then they see their reflection. I had a light in my room I used for that reason and kept the blinds open enough for sunlight to come through, but I also have lucky bamboo in my room that is under that light so I can't move it without moving the bamboo, no idea where I would even put the bamboo lol. It's a complicated mess but as long as he is happier then it's okay.

So....Galadriel died today. I went out shopping and beforehand I checked on him and he was breathing hard, came back and he was dead. I cleaned out the filter last night using tank water and he was fine then, not too sure what happened. My mom says old age and stuff.
Looks like he might have had a tiny bit of fungus or a pin **** wound on his side, I can barely see it thanks to his light colored body. Not really sure what it is. Maybe he had a parasite?

I'm sorry you lost him Did the fungus only appear after he was dead? It's not uncommon for dead fish to grow fungus. Parasite is possible, but unlikely.

I've never seen it on him before, can it really happen that fast? When I was feeding him last night I didn't see anything strange. Although, he didn't touch the brine shrimp ball I made for him like he usually does, took him forever but he did eat pellets. I'm just hoping it's not something I did, ya know?

It’s okay, I’m sorry that he died, but it probably wasn’t anything that you did, it honestly sounds like he had an amazing life, and an amazing owner. You did everything you could.

I'm sure it wasn't anything you did. And yes, fungus on a dead fish can appear very quickly.
