5 Gallon Tank Betta with pygmy cory group?

Quick and easy question here, my plakat male betta has done fine with guppies, albino corys, etc(he's been moved tanks a few times, biggest being the 20 long with guppies) Right now he's in a 5 with 3 albino Cory's. I was recently gifted a 3 gallon aquaponic tank, so I was planning on getting another betta ,but if it would be safe, put him in the 3 with some pygmy's(since I wouldn't know the temperament of the new betta, therefore better with larger Cory's just in case) would he be okay in there with a small group of pygmy's? I don't wanna overstock it,but would he try and eat them?
Ps:the tank is cycled

I think that a single betta in a 3 gallon is pushing it. I wouldn't add anything else to that. Personally, I wouldn't even put a betta in a 3 gallon, but that's very controversial and I'm gonna let you do you. In a larger tank, that would be fine, but in this case, no.

Thank you, the smallest I've ever had is a 5 but most of my tanks are 20's. So I'm a little stumped on what to stock it with

I would say shrimp is probably the best for a 3 but maybe someone else has a better idea.
