Betta with Mbuna cichlids

I have a 75gal cichlid tank with 2 each of yellow labs, zebras, orange, blue dolphins, 3 rainbow sharks and geophagus. All juveniles.
Please advise if a betta can be added to the tank. TQ

I would seriously advise against it. A betta will never be able to hold its own against a tank full of African Cichlids. You will likely have issues already with South American geophagus mixed with Africans, which have different water requirements. Also multiple rainbow sharks in one tank. Rainbow sharks are very territorial and won't normally tolerate others of their own species except in a very large setup.

Thanks for the advice. No betta. Shall take note of this. You're right about the rainbow sharks being territorial to their own type. These 3 communities seems to live in different worlds within the tank, focussing on their own kind. Yet it seems this mixture kind of stifle the aggression. That, and the rocks and broken pots. I'm currently banking on this. Shall monitor onwards

Red Zebras are awsome but become quite aggressive as they mature. Mine are always trying to fight tankmates. The Rainbow Sharks will probably coexist with the Mbuna. The Geophagus might be able to adjust to hard water, and will likely either be ignored by the Mbuna or tortured by them. It's very difficult to mix new world cichlids with Africans.

Well.. since the alternative for the geophaguses is either this or the flowerhorn/jaguar tank, l rather try this out.. or need another tank later.

Seems to be working.. Sorry for the blurry images. They just couldn't stay still.

I hope things continue to work out with the mixed community. I've seen African tanks mixed with various Barbs, Catfish, Loaches, even Central American Cichlids. Sometimes the Africans will totally ignore fish considered to be non-threatening.

Seems the case here. Hope it remains as such

The alternative is a no brainer. Homicidal, even.

Appreciate if perhaps someone can shed some light on what FH trait or breed this is. TQ

I think your FH is an unfaded Red Texas Cichlid x FH mix. Arizona Aquatic Gardens sell them & have pics on line. Usually very expensive.
