Betta with Lump on Face - Please help diagnose

My betta has a lump on his face, in front of his right eye (left side in picture), between the eye and lip. The lump is round, with the top of it being a whiteish color.

In addition, he has a small, white "thing" coming out from his side, behind his right eye (left side in picture). I have searched online and cannot find any picture or description that is similar to either of these issues. It is hard to see the white "thing" in the picture, it looks almost like white plastic.

Please let me know if you have seen any issues similar to the lump and/or white "thing" and if possible, suggest a treatment.

Thank you!

It kinda looks like fungus, but the red is also a little alarming. Do you know your parameters?

The only red I'm seeing is his scale color. I know it's a blurry picture. It's so hard to photograph fish! The lump(s) are not fuzzy, like I would expect a fungus to be.
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5
pH 7

Look at this post and see if it is similar?

https://www.fishlore.com/aquariumfishforum/threads/disease-problems-on-bettas.423870/
Also - please fill out a fish disease problem template so we can rule out obvious stuff.... It's in the sticky posts on the Fish Diseases sub-forum.

Thanks for the link, but this doesn't look similar. There is no bleeding, and his lumps are not a bright white. I did post the sick fish template for you! I appreciate the suggestion, as I am new to the forum.

The only way I found out it was bleeding and had loose scales was by laying the fish out on wet paper towel. There was no appearance of blood in the tank.

The "white" turned out to be the loose scales.

Do your lumps seem to be growing

Unfortunately, the lump has been growing. And the other white spot I first noticed today, which made me worry even more. I was able to get a more clear picture, which I will also post now.

Here is a more clear picture. Look above the eye near the lip for the larger lump. Below and to the left of the eye is the smaller lump. It also appears to me that the scales in that area are slightly raised.

That sure looks like what I had going on.

If it was my fish, I would start dosing API general cure and Erythromycin immediately. As in run over to Petsmart/Petco today and buy the meds...

I would also withhold food for the first 4 days of General Cure treatment to reduce the chance of dropsy..

Oh and while your out it would be wise to get an ammonia test. Liquid tests are the most accurate.
