Betta With Dwarf Chain Loach?

Hey everyone! I was just wondering, if a betta and a dwarf chain loach can live together in a 20 gallon long tank.

And will dwarf chain loaches eat shrimp?

I need to know this because I want them to get rid of my snail infestation.

Thanks to anyone who responds!

Can't answer for the shrimp, but they should be fine together because the loach is a bottom dweller. You should try to get a small school of them though.

Will the loaches swim up to the plants and eat the snails off of them?

And are you saying that Bettas and dwarf chain loaches can live together?

Dwarf Chain Loaches are incredibly social fish and need a quite large group to feel happy and able exhibit this behaviour.

Kept single or too small groups they'll try to interact with other fish what will be seen as harrasing.

^ I agree with my orange friend above. I also feel the Betta may well get fin-nipped too.

I have kept Dwarf Chain Loach in the past. I do not know for certain if they will eat adult shrimp but feel they will eat babies as they ate similar live food and may dismantle adults piece by piece. I think this is likely.

Ok then. Is there a chemical that’ll kill snails, but not shrimp, fish, or beneficial bacteria?

Get some assassin snails for that purpose.
That doesn’t solve my snail problem tho. I’ll still have snails after that. It’s all of the poop that I dislike

I can sympathise with the snail problem as I have a planted tank with lots of snails, even though I try to syphon them out.

I do not overfeed. It seems this tank suits the snails much better than my other five tanks.

I don't see snail poop though. Mine are musical snails. Malaysian Trumpets and tiny French Horns.

Snails came from eggs on plants.

I heard that “no planaria” can kill snails without harming shrimp so I might do that

Ya but then there will still be snails in the tank that can reproduce and produce poop.
