Betta Swim Bladder Problem?

HI all. So I’ve come here reguarding a concern I have with a female betta I’ve recently bought. She seemed fine in the store, but now she’s having trouble swimming down and when she stops swimming she tilts into her side. I’m thinking she must have some air trapped in her swim bladder. Is there anything I can do to help her? Oh also, the cup is temporary, I’m doing 100% water changes every day, by Wednesday she’ll be in her new tank.

Once she is in her new home post and let us know how she is doing. In a cup there are a prolifera of issues she could be facing. Once settled into a more stable home you can better asses any issues that may or may not be going on.

Don’t feed for two days . Then one pellet morning and night . Also it is probably too cold so it’s digestive system can’t work properly causeing the swelling which affects her swim bladder . Fairly easy to fix with warm clean water and holding back on feeding( they also typically feed these things one time every couple weeks with a huge amount of food and that majorly affects their digestive track which leads to swelling which leads to problematic swim bladder)

Swim bladder disorder could be caused by many things such as constipation, overfed, bacterial infections, cold temperatures, parasites, shock (pH or temperature), high nitrate levels, or physical injury. Fast her or feed a pea until you find stool, wait for more symptoms of bacterial infections, keep her in warm temperatures because the cold slows down their metabolism making the stool stay longer inside her pressing on the swim bladder, parasites are very rare and the risk is next to nothing, could've been shocked by the pH or temperature (make sure to carefully acclimate during water changes), keep her water clean, and it's possible for her to have injured her swim bladder during transportation. Epsom salt can help with bloating/swelling and act as a laxative if one of these problems match up with her. Go through each of these to rule them out.
