55 Gallon Tank Betta Sorority Community Tank

Hello, I just got a female Betta for my 20g long tank, but getting her got me thinking about Betta Sororities. I have a 55g community tank with this stocking:
2 Male Honey Gouramis
2 Bristlenose Plecos
12 Black Kuhli Loaches
12 Assassin Snails
24 Ember Tetras
12 Otocinclus

My two Honeys are getting along great. So, I'm wondering if I could move the two Honeys to my 20g long and make a Betta Sorority/ Community tank. How many Bettas could I put in there? Would 20g be two small for the two Honeys?

Thanks for the help!

Think you would be better off with schooling fish for a sorority. If you heavily plant it, but leave some clear room for swimming you may be able to do 5 bettas. But you would be best taking the existing one out now and adding them later all at once, so no predetermined territories.

Oh, sorry. I meant move my two Honeys to the 20g and make the Betta Sorority/ Community Tank out of the 55g. My bad, lol.

Same kind of deal a little bit. Could do several more bettas in that one. Still pretty thickly planted and add them all at once. Though with everything that is in there, i would probably stick to 5 or 7.

Ok, could I do more than 7 as long as it's an odd numbered group? Thanks for the help, btw!

Here's a picture of the tank. A few of the plants have died, but I'm going to get more in a few days. Here's my stocking for this tank:

12-14 Assassin Snails
24-28 Ember Tetras
12-14 Kuhli Loaches
12-14 Otocinclus
2 Bristlenose Plecos

I'm still deciding on either 6-7 or 12-14 female Bettas

I'm not sure if it would ultimately be better to get an odd number of Bettas or a larger group to spread the aggression out.

I haven't had the chance to look around my area much for groups of female Bettas, but I'm pretty sure my two LFS only carry a handful of females and they're typically separated. I have seen on some online stores that you can purchase sorority groups, which are Bettas that have been raised together since birth. I think I'm gonna try to get all my Bettas locally, but I may have to order them online if I have no choice.
