Betta plants

I have a betta in a 5gal tank, usually low lighting. One plant I know that could work is java moss, but I'm not sure how well that would work if it grows long quickly.

Also, are there any plants with leaves that bettas could actually rest on?

There are many low light plants. Do you use fertilizers too?

Anubias nana has some leaves betta could rest on. Crypts, bacopa, and banana plant are also all low light.

I would like to avoid fertilizers as much as possible, but may use it the least I can. Thank you for the suggestions!

You may have to use fertilizers with live plants, especially if your substrate doesn't have a lot. I use root tabs and flourish (liquid fert).

Ok. I'll see if I can find those.
