I just put my betta in a new 10 gallon and he isn’t moving much. He was just sitting in the corner next to the heater so i moved the heater away from the wall. Now he just sits in the upper corner. Is he just nervous? Or what?

I agree to give time for him to adjust. Also, what is your setup like? What sort of cover do you have? And what temp are you keeping it?

Also i know they like still water so i turned air pump off. Good move?
Bettas like it a little bit warmer (78-81), I keep mine at 80. And they are fine with flow, it just can’t be excessive and there should be some calmer areas of the tank. I have mine on canister filters or HOBs and they are thriving and perfectly fine in the flow, but I know plenty of members have success with air pumps and sponge filters, especially with longer-finned bettas.
