Betta Mirror Vs Betta Fish

I have a 40-gallon breeder tank with two glass dividers in them and a male betta in each section. I put a bunch of plants along the divider so that the bettas don't have to see each other if they don't want to, but even then I never see the males flare at each other. Should I get the betta mirrors to get the bettas some exercise? Or are they fine as is?

Bad idea. I would recommend a divider were they can NOT see each other at all.

But if they aren't stressing rhemselces by constantly flaring or glass surfing, aren't they fine? They are showing no signs of stress

It’s still not too good for them though. You don’t want them to be able to see each other.

I do not know how to fix the problem now that the fish are already in the tank. They've been there for several weeks now too and just barely got settled and comfortable last week

You could get a colored divider and put it in and then remove the clear glass after.

The sicisers are silicone-d into the tank

razor blade the silicone off. but put them in a colored specimen so they can't get to each other

I appreciate all this but I'm not in a position to so any of this yet. So my original question was, is it better to give the boys opportunities to see eachother and get exercise or should I use just a mirror?

There's no need to exercise them by using a mirror, unless you want to do it occasionally. I would not leave the mirror there, or do it daily.

You can increase the amount of plants and decor by the glass dividers to prevent them from seeing each other.

How dense can I make the plants? And I have new plants but I don't know how long to keep them in my quarantine tank for?

I don't QT plants at all. Just a quick rinse in tap water and into my tank they go.

The density will depend on what plants you use. Something like swords you wouldn't want to put close together, but stem plants and things like vals can be put close together. Wisteria would also be a good option, as it's dense.
