Betta Male not filling good...

I've got a crowntail male betta and he has been sick for about 3-4 months but I can't seem to heal him. He has what I thought to be Swimbladder disease. But can anyone tell me what this is: he has a pink place right behind his "beard" around the stomach, the pink place looks like a injury but he hasn't been near other fish. His stomach is so swollen that it looks like he might bust open...Please tell me there is some way to help him.

Is he staying at the top only? Are his scales sticking out? This could be dropsy which is a bacterial infection that is usually fatal.

That's the first thing I thought of too. If that's the symptoms the only thing you can do is add some salt to their tank and give them epsom salt baths. You'll have to look in the disease sections to find the proper doses and treatment. Just look under dropsy.

I think after looking at the pictures that he may have dropsy...And as to your question Girlsbeforefish yes he does stay up at the top. Is there a way I can cure him? The link you showed me aquarist48 wasn't very good at telling me if there is a way to cure this.

you.'ll want to fast him for a couple days....then feed him a tiny bit of pea. but if the dropsy is too far along...it might be too late. i'm sorry
