Betta Isn't Eating, Just Floating Around, Breathing Fine..? Please Help!

HI Fishlore! I need some help!
I have had my betta fish since April 2016 as a baby. for the past 7 days, she hasn't been eating, floating around, seems like something is wrong. She can swim but it seems like her tail-end is weighing her down. She's breathing just fine, not labored...

I drop 1 pellet whenever shes at the surface, but she doesn't take the food. Whenever I approach, she doesn't get excited nor come to the surface. She's literally floating with the water... I changed the water 2 days ago, used a water conditioner, and still haven't eaten.

I just recently got a water thermometer because I do not have a water heater (But for the past year, she has been fine with the water/environment condition she has been in). I'm worried that shes dying and wondering if there is any way to reverse this. Should I get a tank that has a filter? a water heater? Please help!!

Can you send a picture of the fish?

What is the tank size?

Filters and heaters are essential for bettas, while they are hardier fish that can survive in the wrong conditions longer than others, they still need their tropical temps, and clean, cycled water to thrive. She may have seemed fine in the colder waters since bettas can survive in the wrong husbandry for longer.

You may also want to look into water parameters, test the water with a kit, or at a petstore. If anything is at toxic levels, you need to address it immediately.

Do her fins look ragged or torn up? Are there any raised scales (pinecone-looking)? Are there any discolored scales/patches?

Hi!
yes, I attached a picture below. the black thing inside is a water thermometer I got recently. I have been watching the temperature and maintaining it around 75-80 degrees.

The tank I currently have is 0.5 gal. below is the tank I have. I only have 1 fish so there isn't a divider.

I do not have a water tester so I will go to my local pet store asap and get one.

I don't believe her fins are torn up. her fins have always been that shape. No raised scales either. She has always been a pale pink. I got her as a baby betta and her color was a pale pink. As she grew, she grew purple tipped fins and thus creating a purpley-pink hue fin.

She needs a larger tank. Bettas need 2.5 gallons at least, but if you must medicate her, the 0.5 gal will work in the meantime. I am unable to open the file :/

By your description, there aren't any common illnesses, so in that case, aI'm on securing a bigger tank and getting your water tested :>

Thanks Haasio! I have purchased a 2.5 gal tank that has a filter and also purchased a water heater. I'll keep the 0.5 tank to hopefully medicate her. But i'm hoping she isn't dying :'(
