Betta is doing bad, help!

My betta, Sherbert, is in dire need of help. I started noticing problems maybe a month or so ago and they started off very small. One of his eyes started to cloud up back then but it wasn't that noticeable so I wrote it off. Then his fins started deteriorating very rapidly. At this point I did a water test just to check params (I'd done it less than a week before) and noticed I was having an ammonia spike. Now the 5 gallon he was in was cycled but overcleaning led to a minI cycle (which has now been resolved). The tank is divided and my other betta, Feisty, is still in it and he is doing wonderfully. I took Sherbert out because I started to notice him getting what looked like flaky dandruff on his head which then started looking like some stringy white material coming off of it. His fins are now so bad, what once was a beautiful halfmoon is looking like a sick crowntail. I've moved him to a new container. Temp 78 and was using Kanaplex but now I'm using nothing but aquasafe. It seems like he has trouble swimming to the top and just lies at the bottom so I lowered the water level. And now BOTH of his eyes are very cloudy. I am so worried about him and don't know what to do! If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. As of now, he's getting daily 100% WCs and he's not eating. Please help!

Cloudy eyes is a sign of a Fungal infection most likely due to high temperature tank or unheated cups. Cloudy eye can also be a sign or popeye too.

Try treating the tank with Maracyn 2.

Also, what size tank or cup is he in? Is it heated? I would do daily Partial Water Changes (Not 100%, but more like 25-50%. Sometimes too much is a bad thing).

The 5 gallon is heated kept at 80. He's now in a gallon bowl (probably more like 3/4 since I lowered the water level) in my room and temp is holding at 78; trust me, it stays hot up there (ambient temp is at least 80) and the temp stays constant!!

But ok, I'll do more frequent water changes instead of a 100%. And I'll check on the maracyn 2. I've got a few things on hand, I just didn't know what to use and didn't want to use the wrong thing... I used the kanaplex because I was thinking columnaris, maybe??

Never heard of Kanaplex so I'm not sure.

I don't believe it's columnaris.

Maracyn 2 looks like it's an antibiotic... Will it help with a fungal infection or will it need something else?

Maracyn 2 should work at least from what I've experienced and read..
