Betta Info Pamphlet

I'm planning to breed bettas, and so eventually I'll be having to find homes for some babies! I know a lot of people think they can just stick a betta in a little vase and just forget about it, so I decided I would make some basic info pamphlets to hand out with the babies. Since I can't FORCE people to take good care of the fish (and I will need to give some away), an info pamphlet seems like a good way to make sure owners are atleast aware of proper betta care and then I can hope they use the information to give the fish a good home.

So here are some jpg files of the pamphlet layouts, I made one for males and one for females. They're not 100% finished yet, as I plan to add more photos later and I might make other changes. I'd like to make sure I have accurate information and am not missing anything major, so please let me know if anything needs to be fixed or added! I'm also wondering, should I make little citations to websites that have this information? I mean at this point, I don't remember exactly where I got each tidbit of info, and I'm not sure if I need to cite sources on this or not.View attachment FemaleBettaPamphlet.jpgView attachment MaleBettaPamphlet.jpg

And feel free to use these as well, and let me know if you want the pdf files. All I would ask is that nobody else claim credit for creating it.

I think it looks great! If only pet stores stocked these . The only thing is....I've never seen a betta with ICH, it seems to be a more community tank-related thing. But there is absolutely no harm with leaving it there!

Meh it sounds like it's a common enough fish illness. And actually one of our bettas got ich a few weeks ago (or well I think it was ich. It was my first time encountering it...I just dosed some salt, turned the heater up a bit, and did extra water changes. It was gone after a week)

And lol right after I posted the pictures I noticed typos! So I'm already fixing those

I have a suggestion. Since ich isn't technically an illness, how about changing the heading to "problems you might encounter" ?

And label it as a parasite infection like this:

Ich is a parasite that presents as white salt-like grains on the fish 's body. These can be treated with a heat treatment (raising the tank temp to 86F), by using aquarium salt, or by using otc ich treatment. Please be advised that, should you choose the otc route, observe and follow the directions carefully and remove shrimp and/or snails if present.

Also, how about including something about bloat?

I'm not trying to take over or anything. I think this is a really awesome idea you have. Its nice to see someone who really cares about the fish they sell

And I have seen a betta with ich. She recovered nicely, BTW.

I might add in that it's a parasite, but honestly I just don't have room to type up tons of details! I'll also add in bloating, forgot about that one. Plus on the back of the pamphlet I'm putting some websites that they can go to for extra information, along with my email address. This pamphlet is really just meant to cover basics and then if they need more information, I've got some resources listed and I mean..there's always google.

~~Edit

I replaced the s in the original post with my updated versions.
