So I bought a betta a month ago called a “panda” betta (really he looks like a color flipped samurai betta) and he has white eyes but like a week ago I looked and it’s almost like his scales have grown over his eyes which is wierd becuz all the bettas at this pet store titled panda have always had these white eyes and I can’t find any where online for it with out a disease coming up but he is 100% healthy and he can see so like what is it?
Just a curious observation I wondered if anyone on here has heard of it

Could you post a photo? There’s a condition called diamonds eye that’s really common in dragon scale betta. It’s basically where the scales grow over there eyes. I believe the classic samurai betta are dragon scale betta so that would be my guess on what’s going on

Ignore the small tank I am upgrading some of my tanks so they are in tall half gallon tanks for now

I agree that it sounds like and looks like diamond eye. Unfortunately there is no way to cure/fix it that I know of, you just have to be very careful with the decorations you put into the tank because he will eventually become visually impaired once the scales fully cover his eyes.

Well that’s sad thing to hear. How will he eat then ? I typically hand feed my fish so I don’t think it will be to hard but can they ‘smell’ the food Or something
