Betta Has Dropsy ... Again

Hello Fellow Fishlorians!

It seems that my betta has dropsy again.
Last time, she was inactive and pineconing for a month. Then, the swelling reduced and she went back to normal with fin damage and missing scales(healed).

Now, she has it again. I’m worried that her damaged organs can’t take dropsy again.

I don’t know how she got it.

All I can conclude is that my dad overfed my tank when I was gone for a week.

Would any procedures be different for a fish with dropsy for the second time?

Last time, I couldn’t find any meds or Epsom salt so I kept the water as clean as possible so she recovered.

Would it be a bad idea to do the same again?

I would do Kanaplex because her organs are already damaged from the first time and might not be able to fight it off the next time.

Not sure.
I got her at probably 3-4 months old so I’m guessing maybe 8-9 months?

 

Ok, I'd try an epsom salt bath and if it doesn't help, go with Kanaplex. Pictures?

 

The pineconing isn’t very bad right now. I will try to get the best pics I can tomorrow as the lights just went out and I don’t want to stress out all of my fish just to get a picture.

Wha5 I’m worried about is that I will be leaving the country for about 3 weeks soon(2 weeks until I leave).

There is nobody that will care for them.

 

Ooh, that's tough. I'd start treatment and baths ASAP, so you can finish treatment before you leave.
