Betta Fish ok just eating pellets?

I have a mail betta that I mainly feed pellets but I read that it's better for them to have different foods so I also bought him freeze-dried blood worms and he won't eat them at all, I thought maybe he didn't realize that they were food so I put them in with some pellets and he ate one and spit it back out, is he okay just eating pellets? Or is there something else else that I should try feeding him? Or is there a good brand of pellets that I can feed him?

It depends on what kind of pellet you are feeding him... Some pellets have better nutrition then others.

However you can get frozen blood worms and brine shrimp, you will only want to feed a tiny portion at a time but I doubt that your little guy would refuse a frozen bloodworm.

I think TexasDomer would know what kind of betta pellets (or flakes) to go for.

not to take over the thread but I got a quick question for texasdomer reguarding the blood worms if he sees this. my betta loved bloodworms and got so excited whenever I put them in the tank but all the sudden he wouldn't touch them anymore. they were freeze dried. do they go bad or is my betta just being picky? this happened after I started using a higher protein flake that my fish lady recommended at my lfs. I used to alternate between flake and bloodworm

All fish food goes bad, and pretty quick once it's opened, too.

Omega one Betta pellets are excellent and NLS Betta pellets as also very good.

I feed my Bettas , 2-3 omega one pellets soaked in aquarium water for a few mins twice daily , twice a week bloodworms , and once a week half a boiled de shelled pea.

I wouldn't eat freeze dried anything myself haha , try frozen bloodworms (which are better anyways) Bettas normally love them.
