Help Betta fish lip injury ID help

My koi betta is missing a section of his top lip and wont eat, he still get excited at feeding time and even trys to take a couple bites but is unsuccessful, it looks as if it hurts for him to eat so he doesn't. Is this a injury or a fungle infection and how should I treat. Thank you for the help20200527_031911.jpg

Everything seems fine, but I do suggest you purchase a testing kit, so that you can test the water your self. I would also suggest feeding a little less 6-8 pellets twice a day seems like a lot. Depending on the size of the pellet, feed 2-4 twice a day and remember to soak them (a betta’s stomach is as big as it’s eye, so feed eye sized portions).

From the pictures you posted it looks like he has a whitish mouth and something is coming out of his right gill. Since he’s not eating that’s not a good sign.
Does his mouth and lips look fuzzy/cotton like?
You mentioned he’s in a split tank, so is he sharing water with the other betta?
I would make a quarantine tank and put him in quarantine asap.
