2 Gallon Tank Betta Fish Injury Help Please

Hello all I am in need of advice,

About 20 minutes ago the family Betta - living in a well planted and heated bowl of about 2.5-3gal - got either spooked or caught on something in the bowl. I'm not sure what as I only heard the splashing.

When I got over it looked like his tail fin was damaged and he had a small injury on his head. Looks like a bit of skin/scale dangling off the middle of his head. No blood, no deep cuts however.

I did a water change to remove impurities in the water that might affect his recovery but unfortunately I leave tomorrow for work and am the only fish inclined person in the house.

I haven't had much success with fish medication in the past but is there any recommendation as to something that could be added to the tank to help him recover until I return home in 5 days?

As I was doing the water change he appeared fine minus the cosmetic damage. Swimming around, no heaving breathing, still curious when I approach the bowl. Even while typing this he is swimming along the glass for attention. But I just want to make sure I do the best I can by him.

Thanks for any advice

You could try any form of Bettafix etc, or if it's only a small cut, you could see how it heals on its own. Pictures would help heaps.
A torn fin can usually heal on it own with good nutrition, but medication can help speed the recovery.

I would try aquarium salt if anything. Bettafix is basically a placebo made from tree oil that can mess up a betta's breathing system. Any lictures of the tank, maybe we can figure out future prevention?

Bettafix (or any fix) is not good for bettas. It is essential oils that mess with the bettas labyrinth organ.

Is there a filter in the tank? Or is it a walstad tank?

Pics would help, as everyone has said. Aquarium salt would be the best, just make sure to read the directions to know the proper amounts. The salt cannot get filtered out or evaporated, so make sure to re-add the proper amounts with each water change.

But, as others have said, if they are not deep deep cuts they could very well heal on its own, make sure to do a water change before you leave though.
