Hi all, my halfmoon betta has been with me for around 2 years now (bought fully grown) and the past couple of months his fins have started growing rather squarish and ragged, completely losing the semicircle shape it was previously. Has anyone experienced this? Is it normal?

It will help figure out if it is fin rot

This has happened with my past two bettas as well, as they age the fins just sort of wither away. No amount of clean water seemed to fix their fins, so it might just be weaker genetics...As for your fish, before losing hope I would try changing the water more often to see if that stimulates regrowth.
