Betta Fins Curled

My Betta, named Swiss, his fins have been curling. Iv had him for a year now and the curling slowly started and now I'm concerned. It doesn't look like fin rot to me, but wanted your guys opinion on what it is and how to treat it. He is very active and still makes his bubble nests. Everytime I grab my phone he sees his reflection and starts flaring and swimming fast, so it's hard to get pictures of him but I tryed my best. I'm concerned about his Ventral fins, his Dorsal fin and a little bit of the top of his Caudal fin(tail fin). I'm thinking I just need to do water changes more often, but like I said I wanted to see what you guys think.
Hes in a 10 gal tank, and I just did a water change today so I don't have accurate ph levels. There are 3 panda catfish with him, and 2 nerite snail, and 2 Mystery snails.
Iv had my pandas for a year now and they are happy and healthy (although Swiss can be an sometimes lol)

One of my bettas developed the same condition before getting dropsy and passing away I managed to cure another from the condition by adding aquarium salt after a water change. Just follow the instructions on the box to prevent diseases. Now I add some with every water change just to prevent diseases. If not you could also try putting him in a quarantine tank and try with betta fix or something similar... Good luck!

Many other bettas have curled fins. There are many possible causes for fin curling for bettas as we don't exactly know what causes it. Once the rays are bent, they most likely won't be able to go back straight.

It's harmless and is just going to be a cosmetic issue. Just continue to keep his water clean. Some people say that keeping him near sunlight will fix it because of a vitamin deficiency.

Sorry about your betta . I do add aquarium salt with each water change. I think I will try to quarantine him and see if some fin repair will work. Thanks for writing!

Thanks for your input! I'm hoping it is harmless and just cosmetic. I was reading that when they have growth spurts it can cause curling, so hopefully it's just that. Me looking at his first pics, his fins have definitely gotten longer and now he has this pink on his tail fin witch I love I might try to quarantine him and try some fin repair. Thanks for writing!

I have a veil tail (not sure I spelled that right ) and kept him in less then perfect conditions most his life. I feel bad about it now but have always kept bettas in smaller tanks with just heaters, most thrived. That is before I actually joined a forum and I just listened to stereotypical nonsense about them. Anyway, he had slight fin rot when we got him, but he's now 3 years old and doin good still he does have a little white bump but it doesn't grow or affect him in any way (people think its from old age) but it also made me decide against putting him in my community tank. Anyway, my point is, his fins have curled a bit thro the years, some parts look like pig tails (since veils have the frayed looking fins) I'll post a pic. I agree with the fact that it looks just like a cosmetic issue in ur case. He looks absolutely beautiful and healthy. just keep and eye on it but I doubt it's anythin to worry about! And I lied about a pic, he won't stay still long enough to get a good one lol
