Betta fin rot

Can anyone give me the best advice for treating Betta fin rot? Recently I realize my betta fish is suffering from what looks like fin rot. I realized something was wrong when I saw a piece of his fin on the gravel. I keep him in a 3.5 gallon tank alone. For now I have him in a one gallon bowl for four days now to treat the fin rot. I change about 50% of the water in the bowl daily and dose the replacement water with a small dose of salt to help healing. I also dose the bowl with melafix each day. He seems to be doing ok in the bowl. He swims around normally and eats but when he was in the main tank he would not eat and stayed at the bottom. I have cleaned out the main tank completely with hot water and refilled it and washed the ornaments. Right now it is running with the filter. When I’m ready to transfer him back to the main tank I will add quick start. My question is when should I transfer him back to the main tank? How much longer should I treat him in the bowl before doing so? And after I transfer him should I continue treatment? When will the fins grow back? Sorry for so many questions but I really like this betta and I’m trying hard to save him. I have attached a few pictures. I hope you could see his condition clearly.

Move him back, and continue treatment there in the 3.5 gal.

Also stop the melafix. It can harm betta fish.

Does the 3.5 have a filter and heater?

For now continue 50% daily water changes and move him back to 3.5 gal.

It has a filter but no heater. I don’t need a heater. The temperature in the room is 78-82 degrees year-round. You say move him back to the 3.5 gallon tank and do 50% water changes there? What about salt treatment and hope for fin regeneration? Does it look like fin rot from the pictures?

It looks like very severe rot. Could possibly be bacterial but I am no expert at bacterial stuff.

I would stop salt, do 50% water changes daily, even maybe twice daily for extra clean water and get Methylene blue. Use the MB as baths.

Thanks. I’ll transfer him back tomorrow. Hopefully his fins will regenerate.
