Betta filter problem! Help!

So I just moved Phish into his new 10 gallon home! However, I noticed he is having problems with the current filter. It is pushing him around when he swims on the side it's on. I currently have an Aqua-tech 5-15 on it and would prefer to some how rig it to lessen the current rather than buying a whole new filter as I literally just bought this one! Thanks!

You need to diffuse the water coming back into the tank.

 

How? Will Google show me?!

I've seen a bunch of other DIY options as well. Just have to get creative. Google will help you as well with some photos and links to what others have done.
