Good evening. From what I've read recently, freeze dried foods can cause constipation and bloat in Bettas sometimes. I'm using Frozen blood worms and frozen brine shrimp. I have pellets on hand too.
A thawed, skinned pea (not from a can) cut to the size of one of his eyes is good for a treat once a week or so and is great for constipation in Bettas.

With any freeze-dried fish food, you want to soak it in liquid before you feed it to the fish to help avoid the bloating. You can soak in a bit of tank water, or even better, in a bit of garlic juice. the garlic is good for their immune system and helps them fight parasites.

to get the garlic juice, you can get garlic (either fresh or minced in a jar) at the grocery store. mash up a little with some water.
