Betta Eye Peeling after Popeye

Our betta had popeye a few days ago. We've been treating him with erythromycin for 4 days (the morning we first noticed) and the swelling has gone down.
Today, there is almost no sweling but the eye is basically peeling. His eye was also cloudy a couple days ago.
Is his eye falling off or is the infected layer just peeling away?
He hasn't shown any signs of suffering. He never stopped eating and never stopped swimming around.

Could you maybe get a clearer pic of the side with the "peeling" eye?

His eye is most likely healing. Make sure you are on top with water changes that way you don't overdose with medication and affect his labyrinth
organ. I would order some Indian almond leaves and roobis tea asap. Help with his slime coat and releases antibiotic properties .

The eye looks like it's still intact underneath the skin. I would go with what Blueberrybetta said for treatment.

So it's normal to have the white part around his eye flaking off while healing? I'm assuming that was the infected area

I don't know a whole lot about popeye, but I'm assuming that as long as his eye is fine underneath (it looks like it is) then he should be fine. I also don't really see how else it would come off, aside from it coming off all at once, which seems very unlikely.

If the swelling is going down , then that's good. Now you just have to wait for his eye to heal. I would keep dosing medication and doing frequent water changes as suggested to the medication. Clean water is best for any infections. I still suggest the Indian almond leaves as well

This is what it looked like 2 days ago. Today there is almost no swelling left...just started to flake last night. Definitely looking better though.
Any advise on aquarium salt? Does it help at all?

Using salt isn't reccomend with medication. Both combined will deplete the oxygen level and harm the bettas labyrinth organ. Usually go with the salt treatment or either a medication treatment if severe

So, it sure seems like it's his actual eye 'peeling off'. Still flakey today and appears pink underneath the flakey area. Haven't been able to get a pic.
